Danny Ang - Growing professionally and personally

Witnessing the tangible impact Site Services contributes to the organization.

Portrait of Danny Ang

Greetings, everyone! I am delighted to share my story with you as part of the RSS Academy People Stories series.

During my free time, I have a deep passion for reading non-fiction books and often find inspiration while being outdoors, hunting for nuggets of ideas that spark creativity and innovation. I also enjoy writing and sharing articles about my personal innovation journey. Let me know if you would like to read some of my articles, I am more than happy to share with you. My recent articles are titled "Passion Realization - What it takes" and "Unlocking Your Career Potential - A Guide to Passion, Growth and Global Success".

While I do not have specific individuals who inspire me, I draw inspiration from thought leaders and innovation gurus who continually push the boundaries of what is possible.

My career journey

My career journey has been rich and diverse, spanning over three decades across various industries, roles, and entrepreneurial ventures. These years have seen me grow both professionally and personally. For the past five and a half years at RSS, I have continued to evolve and have become professionally certified as an Innovation Leader (CIL) by the Global Innovation Management Institute (GIMI). I recently earned a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA). Currently, I have the privilege of serving as the Head of Site Services at Roche Services & Solutions APAC. My expertise lies in strategic property management, designing offices that support the right work culture, and effective innovation management. I am also an active Innovation Coach and Mentor to colleagues at RSS APAC, Roche Pharma Malaysia, and Roche Diagnostics Malaysia.

What I appreciate most about working at Roche is the incredible culture. The respect and camaraderie among colleagues create an environment where I feel valued and supported. Roche has enabled me to pursue my passions by granting me autonomy over my work, encouraging creativity, and fostering a strong sense of belonging. This supportive atmosphere has allowed me to grow both professionally and personally.

One of the highlights of my role in the Site Services team is witnessing the tangible impact we contribute to the organization. A particularly memorable moment was the completion of our office renovation, which has positively contributed to making Roche a great place to work. Employees and visitors have expressed their admiration for the new workspace and their happiness in working and socializing in the office. Such rewarding experiences reinforce the significance of our efforts.

Despite facing obstacles and setbacks, my passion and drive remain unwavering. Overcoming challenges, particularly during the COVID pandemic when we activated Business Continuity Management (BCM), with the support of my team, has been instrumental in ensuring the safety of our colleagues, and also to ensure business continuity. This helps in maintaining my enthusiasm and commitment to give my best to the organization.
