Hajnalka Teri - Exploring, evolving, and empowering
At the heart of the business with the P&C team.
:quality(90)/)
When I am not at work, my heart belongs to my family: my 12-year-old son, my husband, and our ever-joyful dog. Our days are filled with laughter, adventure, and meaningful time with friends. Whether we are discovering new places abroad or exploring hidden gems in our own country, we are always on the move, creating memories.
Lately, I have been carving out time to focus more intentionally on my own well-being. Running has become a regular part of my routine. It is something I never imagined enjoying as much as I do. It is my way of reconnecting with myself, clearing my mind, and staying energized. Nutrition and health have taken a front seat in my life, because when I feel well, I believe I show up better in every aspect of life.
The biggest source of my motivation, though, is without a doubt my son. Being a parent is the most powerful inspiration I have ever known. He motivates me to be a better version of myself every single day. I see the world through his curious eyes, and I feel a deep responsibility to model what it means to lead with purpose, to learn continuously, and to face life’s challenges with resilience. Sharing experiences and exploring the world together brings me pure joy—and reminds me why I do what I do.
My career journey
Professionally, my journey has spanned more than a decade across dynamic roles. I joined Roche just over three years ago and currently serve as a People & Culture (P&C) Business Partner for our global RSS Analytics & Automation (A&A) business line, as well as the People Support Solutions teams in Budapest. Prior to this, I held human resources leadership roles at Diageo Budapest and MOL Group, where I honed my skills in business partnering, payroll, and organizational development.
What keeps me truly engaged at Roche is the people. I have always believed that the team you work with defines how you experience your workplace, and I feel incredibly lucky. I am surrounded by innovative minds and supportive colleagues in a culture that encourages collaboration, bold thinking, and continuous growth.
Being part of the P&C team is rewarding because it puts me at the heart of the business. We go beyond supporting functions as strategic partners. I get to collaborate closely with teams shaping the future of our organization, like the incredible A&A group. Their focus on driving tech-enabled, analytics-based solutions is nothing short of inspiring. Their commitment to upskilling and innovation fuels my own passion for learning and evolving.
The thread that has carried me throughout my career is curiosity. Keeping the spark alive hasn’t always been easy. Like many people, I have had to make difficult choices and pivot directions. But I learnt that when my passion starts to fade, the answer isn’t always to walk away. It is to find something new within the familiar.
At Roche, this is encouraged! Through initiatives like gigs, shadowing, and special projects, I have found opportunities to stretch myself, explore new interests, and reignite my enthusiasm. These “learning levers” make a real difference for me, and I am grateful for a culture that not only supports but celebrates continuous growth.
My 5 career tips
:quality(90)/)
The most important thing I believe you need to have is proper self awareness - where are you now in your career, and what are your plans for your future?
You should have frequent discussions about your aspirations and plans with your leader, so they can advise you if you need guidance.
Keep in mind that you are the owner of your career. No one else will look for opportunities and development options for you.
Be bold and contact people from other teams, if you are interested in what they are doing.
And please leverage what Roche offers, we have a great training portfolio, not just globally, but specifically on an RSS level as well!
My RSS high-5
First of all, I believe everyone in RSS should celebrate! I think we are a great team. But, if I have to choose, and I know I am biased here, I would go with the A&A team because of their innovation, commitment, passion and excellence of delivery. They are a great team that is rapidly growing, just like the way the technology is developing. This is definitely a team worth joining, you can gather very niche expertise on (new) technologies.
