Two RSS colleagues get lifetime opportunity to experience first-hand Roche's charity activities in Ethiopia and Malawi

Two of our Roche Children’s Walk (RCW) 2024 Ambassadors — Catherine Goh from Malaysia and Evelyn Arroyo from Costa Rica — have been selected to visit Ethiopia and Malawi in Q4 2024.

When in Africa, our two RSS colleagues will join seven other ambassadors in a mission to observe the transformative projects the Roche Employee Charity (Re&Act) is currently supporting, including initiatives such as the Selam children’s village in Ethiopia and collaborations with the Roger Federer Foundation in Malawi, respectively.

Both colleagues were taken equally by surprise when notified they have been selected to be part of this unique opportunity.

Catherine Goh

Based in Kuala Lumpur, Catherine works for the RSS APAC Demand to Pay, Procurement team and was the Malaysia RCW Fundraising squad lead this year.

''I initially thought my manager was joking when she told me about this great news," she said. ''I am really looking forward to this visit and meeting my fellow explorers to see how Roche is contributing to help children in Africa.''

Evelyn Arroyo

Based in San Jose, Evelyn Arroyo is part of the RSS Americas Global Learning Services team and also wears the hat as the Corporate Social Responsibility co-lead within the Great Place to Work team for RCW Costa Rica.

"Despite the hurdles created initially by the pandemic and later on with the Roche Costa Rica Campus development, we are very proud of our fundraising efforts over the past four years," she added. '' I am especially glad that Roche is actively participating in meaningful initiatives such as the RCW. I am looking forward to witnessing the impact of this event and sharing my experiences with everyone once I return from Ethiopia and Malawi.”

The Roche Children's Walk (RCW) is our largest employee-driven fundraising event. Every year, outstanding colleagues who contributed in organizing and bringing teams together locally are chosen as their country ambassadors.

We congratulate Catherine and Evelyn for obtaining this honor and for representing RSS as ambassadors.
